1st pit stop: Einbeck
Einbeck is famous for vehicles of historic times, the classic cars! Especially in Europe’s largest classic car collection, the PS.SPEICHER, you will find lots of classic cars to fall in love with. The collection comprises about 400 vehicles. Among them are very special exclusives, collector’s items, historic bicycles, motorcycles and also lots of cars. On an area of about 5,000 square meters you will find many exhibits from the early days of motorization, but also modern models.
In order to provide you with a unique adventure, the PS.SPEICHER places special emphasis on the experience. So you can view vehicles from different eras in authentic scenes of the corresponding times. For example, you will find military vehicles in recreated rubble landscapes. You will be transported back to the 1950s by historic motorcycles surrounded by a milk bar and a jukebox with corresponding sounds. And also through many other eras after that you will be carried out authentically. Embark on a time travel of over 200 years through the history of mobility.
As a highlight under the eye “experience” also not to forget:
- A ride in the Porsche 911 racing simulator! Simply take the wheel yourself and step into the role of a real racing driver.
- With the oldtimer and youngtimer rental through Einbeck! Feel the driving experience in times without power steering, brake booster and stability control.
- With the Hanamog driving simulator through the Golden 20s! With the “Kommissbrot” in the middle of Hanover in the 1920s.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, changing special exhibitions also await you in the PS.SPEICHER.
After successfully exploring the PS.Speicher, the PS.Pfad is definitely worth a visit. It has been around since 2015 and will give you some interesting facts and information!
And while you’re there – in Einbeck there’s another trail you can walk: the beer trail. Not quite as horsepower-packed, but you’ll learn some exciting information about Einbeck’s beer history, which spans several centuries.
2nd pit stop: Wolfsburg
For you car lovers, a trip to Wolfsburg is one item that should definitely be on your bucket list! The influence of the car manufacturer VW can be felt almost throughout the entire city. And in the Autostadt, VW’s communication platform that combines the delivery center of new cars, a museum as well as an amusement park, you can experience everything about automobility all the more. On 28 hectares of park and lagoon landscape there is a lot to discover for young and old.
During your visit, you will certainly notice the imposing car towers, which are also known as the landmark of the city of Wolfsburg. Did you know that up to 800 new cars can be found in the towers, of which an average of 500 reach their buyers every day? And in no time at all, because: In the towers of the Autostadt you will find the fastest automatic parking system in the world. It’s really fascinating how the cars are brought down from the top floors almost floating. You should definitely see this for yourself.
You can also visit the world’s most visited automobile museum or enjoy exciting driving training courses and off-road courses, where you can put your skills to the test. Another highlight are the seasonally changing shows that take you through the Autostadt. While in summer you can marvel at spectacular water shows, in winter it is a colorful ice show with a large winter market that impresses.
3rd pit stop: Stuttgart
Porsche or Mercedes-Benz – which is your favorite among the car manufacturers? The two manufacturers definitely have one thing in common. They both have their headquarters in beautiful Stuttgart. And where their headquarters are located, there is of course no shortage of museums steeped in the history of the German automakers.
100 vehicles and over 200 small exhibits are waiting to amaze you in the Porsche Museum. Here, your dream of a sports car is within reach! Immerse yourself in an exciting world and learn about the history of the sports car manufacturer, which goes back to 1931. Let the experts explain everything to you in detail on a guided tour of the museum or go exploring on your own. You will not only be able to look at the powerful vehicles with your eyes, but also enjoy the sound and smell of a Porsche in the museum. You can even touch the luxury car bodies with the museum’s rental gloves.
The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart presents the manufacturer’s luxury vehicles on nine levels and 16,500 square meters.
